At HIPP, we believe in the power of compassion, empathy, and cooperation to create a better world. As a registered 501(C)(3) Non-Profit-Non-Governmental Organization, our mission is to serve those in need and foster the development of socially and environmentally conscious future leaders. Since our establishment in 1998, we have been devoted to improving awareness about and promoting respect and appreciation for Humanity, Equality, Democracy, Human Rights, and Justice across the globe.

Our Inspirational Founder:

Meet Dr. Tajudin A. Mal, a remarkable individual whose journey has shaped the essence of HIPP’s humanitarian endeavors. In 1980, he courageously fled his native country, Afghanistan, as a political opponent of the Russian invasion and its puppet communist government. Amidst the tumultuous events, he faced perilous encounters with Islamic extremists while assisting Afghan freedom fighters and refugees in Pakistan. These harrowing experiences instilled in him an unyielding determination to make a difference and alleviate the suffering of his people.

Building Bridges and Making a Difference:

In 1988, Dr. Mal found a new home in the United States and worked as a medical researcher at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE. Becoming a US citizen in 1996, he embraced his role as a bridge between cultures, harnessing the support of a diverse community united by a shared passion for humanity’s welfare.

Our Impactful Initiatives:

Since the inception of HIPP, Dr. Mal’s unwavering dedication has fueled our organization’s energy and relentless efforts to restore peace, order, and human dignity to lives shattered by decades of relentless violence and destruction in Afghanistan. He has rallied a growing family of dedicated volunteers and loyal American contributors, forging a unique bond that transcends borders.

The Unity in Our Leadership:

Our Board of Directors reflects the essence of unity, consisting of both Afghans and Americans, collaborating to make a positive impact on the lives of those most in need. Over the last 18 years, Dr. Mal and the HIPP team have successfully implemented numerous transformative projects, focusing on education, women’s services, peace-building, democracy, and human rights improvement, both in the United States and Afghanistan.
